Tom Moloney has departed as chief executive of health information specialist Dr Foster Intelligence.
Dr Foster Intelligence is best known as a publisher of comparative information on UK health and social care services, including data on hospital performance and mortality rates.
It is jointly owned by the Department of Health, which owns a 48.75% stake, and Dr Foster Holdings LLP, which owns 51.25%.
In November 2010, following a review carried out by KPMG, the DH and Dr Foster Holdings officially announced that Dr Foster Intelligence was up for sale; but no buyer has yet been secured.
High profile Moloney, the former chief executive of publishing giant Emap, was appointed chief executive of Dr Foster three years ago, in March 2008.
A spokesperson for Dr Foster told EHI: “Tom Moloney, chief executive of Dr Foster Intelligence, has left the company after nearly three years in post.
"He joined from Emap with the brief to put Dr Foster into profit and prepare the business for sale. Both tasks have been completed and the board thanks him for his contribution.”
Tim Baker has been appointed interim chief executive. Baker was previously chief executive of Dr Foster Research, the arm of Dr Foster focussed on the development of new markets and international business.
