Video GP consultations, between GPs and patients, have been shown to be a key part of digital patient service delivery, promising cheaper and more convenient appointments for some patients.
North East London has been one of the pioneers of video consultations with its Health Connect programme, supported by North East London Commissioning Support Unit, which developed out of the PM Challenge Fund. The service is now in use across three counties
Stellar Healthcare in West Essex is now offering patients the ability to easily schedule a video consultation for GP appointments. Using Cisco’s Jabber as the secure video conferencing tool. This service is now up and running, offering appointments between 1800 and 2100 4 days a week with plans to roll-out to 1500 GP's.
