Egton and Brother have started to offer extended technical support to their products in what they are calling an industry first.

The new Healthcare Support Packs will offer a three-year extended warranty and telephone support during office hours five days per week for all Brother products sold through Egton. The warranty also includes on-site repair of faulty goods, or temporary replacements if repairs need to be undertaken offsite.

Terry Caulfield, corporate sales manager at Brother, said: "We had been wanting to introduce an extended warranty package for some time, and we understood the need for a specialist support partner, this is why we approached healthcare ICT specialists Egton."

Egton supply infrastructure and software to healthcare providers, and are a division of GP system supplier EMIS. The company has a team of 100 service engineers and has been running for 17 years.

Nick Helman, systems and warranty provision manager at Egton, said that as a supplier of Brother printers the company was pleased to introduce the new package. "This new extended service will, I’m sure, enhance the customer experience of Brother printer ownership."

In a separate announcement, EMIS have posted dates of a road show featuring demonstrations of their software and technology and exhibits from their partners, which include Egton.

The show will visit sports stadia across London and the north-west between February and April, with more dates planned elsewhere in the country. More information can be found on the EMIS website at www.emis-online.com/news.asp.
