What does the most ambitious NHS plan in a generation mean for the third largest clinical workforce in the NHS? As care moves closer to the community, Allied Health Professionals are playing an increasingly vital role in the use of digital tools to enhance patient experience and outcomes.

The 10 Year Health Plan has been backed by plans for the creation of an NHS ‘online hospital’ with first patients using the service in 2027. Patients will be triaged through the NHS App and allowed to book scans at local Community Diagnostic Centres.

AHP leaders from across the Digital Health Networks discussed the impact of the 10YP digital ambitions on the AHP workforce and patient journeys.

Key discussion points included service redesign, innovation, data management, digital tools such as remote monitoring, shared records and population health.
