The Covid-19 pandemic has seen an acceleration in the use of digital tools across the healthcare sector in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Healthcare providers as well as biotechnology / pharmaceutical companies have been at the forefront over the last few months due to their key roles in fighting the Covid-19 battle.
However, this rise has left them susceptible to potential cyber threats and despite being in the midst of a global pandemic, cyber criminals have targeted healthcare organisations with Covid-19 related scams and phishing emails.
With the possibility that the significant disruption to normal life looks set to continue, cyber resilience in healthcare must be listed as a high priority. Organisations should be encouraged to take a proactive rather than reactive approach to securing networks, devices, information, research, finances and personal identifiable information.
“The Cyber Threat to UK and RoI Healthcare” offers a review into the potential threats which face the healthcare sectors in the UK and the Republic of Ireland as its reliance on digital services continues to grow at a fast pace.
