In 2019, the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System (ICS) partnered with Patients Know Best and NHS Digital to co-design the PKB-NHS App ‘All-in-One’ integration.
The solution provides the population of Nottinghamshire with a single ‘digital’ front door to PKB features, functionality and data via the national NHS App.
As a result, PKB became one of the first products to integrate with NHS login’s new encrypted single sign-on and the first personal health record to integrate with the NHS App.
The launch of the solution came in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic which propelled the need for PKB registered patients to be able to self-manage their care and have full control over who could see their information.
Furthermore, the solution also allowed families to stay connected with their loved ones being cared for in the Intensive Care Unit at Sherwood Forest Hospital.
