Like most hospital trusts, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust has a number of strict requirements it needs to meet surrounding its data. This includes monthly reports which have to be regularly sent to executives and the board. Its hospitals must also display patient data in the entrances of its hospital wards, such as number of falls or infections, and be updated by staff.

In order to better meet its reporting needs long-term, the trust turned to Yellowfin for help and in 2019 the company became North Tees and Hartlepool’s new business intelligence (BI) vendor.

As a result, the trust has made full use of Yellowfin’s automated, embedded and data storytelling tools which has significantly improved the flow of data throughout its hospitals for staff and visitors.

But the benefits do not stop there. Outside of the BI team, other areas of the trust have also been creating their own specific dashboards which features relevant patient information. This has reduced the need to write everything in spreadsheets or documents by keeping all their data within Yellowfin itself.
