The latest Digital Health Unplugged is now live, looking at how digital tools can be used to manage pressure on the NHS, the importance of electronic patient records and upskilling the workforce.

Joining host and senior reporter for Digital Health, Andrea Downey, were:

  • Garry McCord,  chief strategy officer for Servelec
  • Dr Nicholas Andreou, co-founder of Locum’s Nest
  • Dr Harpreet Sood, board member Health Education England and GP at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The panel examines the NHS’s use of digital tools and whether we are taking full advantage of the benefits technology has to offer, as well as the role suppliers have to play in digitally preparing the health service.

As the coronavirus outbreak continues, the panel also looks at the importance of access to real time patient data and how that is used to inform NHS decisions, as well as improve the working lives of clinicians.

They also look at whether the outbreak has highlighted any gaps in how the NHS uses technology and the steps needed to improve on digital services.
