Our latest Digital Health Unplugged news team debrief is now live – this time with a slightly different format.

With coronavirus continuing to dominate headlines, selecting our biggest stories of the month proved trickier than usual. Instead, we will be focusing on a developing theme during arising during the outbreak.

As we have focused on the NHS and suppliers response to Covid-19 in previous podcasts, this time we focused on patient facing tech – namely, apps.

Join senior reporter Andrea Downey, editor Hannah Crouch, and editor-in-chief Jon Hoeksma as we discuss the development of contact-tracing apps and the impact they’re likely to have.

Contact-tracing apps are a main focus of developers and health authorities across the globe in the face of Covid-19.

NHSX is in the process of developing and trialling their own contact-tracing app, Apple and Google have joined forces to develop contact-tracing technology, King’s College London have developed a symptom reporting app, and there’s more coming onto the market as coronavirus continues to spread.

But, as with the development of all apps, concerns remain about data protection, proper use and uptake. Tune in to hear more.
