- Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB has gone live with the IEG4 digital continuing healthcare (CHC) platform as part of its digital transformation programme
- Around 6,200 cases are now managed through the system, including CHC, funded nursing care, children and young people, and adult cases
- Full go-live of the platform will take place by July 2026
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (HIOW ICB) has gone live with the IEG4 digital continuing healthcare (CHC) solution as part of the organisation’s digital transformation.
Approximately 6,200 cases are currently held in the system, including CHC, funded nursing care, children and young people, and adult cases.
The platform aims to improve management of NHS-funded care packages by streamlining referrals, assessments, approvals, contracting, payments and case management.
Since the contract was signed in December 2025, the organisations have worked together to deploy the solution, with phased go-live taking place between March and July 2026.
Shelley Lewis, deputy director of All Age Continuing Care at HIOW ICB, said: “We are grateful to colleagues at IEG4 for their support with implementing the new platform.
“This software is critical in supporting our All Age Continuing Care teams’ transformation agenda, as we look to further improve and innovate the way we work”.
NHS continuing healthcare is a package of care arranged and funded solely by the NHS and is awarded when a person is classed as having a ‘primary health need’, meaning their care needs should be met and funded by the NHS.
The five-year contract aligns with similar initiatives in the region, including NHS Somerset ICB’s selection of IEG4’s digital CHC platform in August 2024.
Stephen Ferry, chief executive of the IEG Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB into our digital CHC community and to support them in addressing their current challenges with our intuitive end-to-end platform.
“In light of the recent government announcement in which ICBs need to reduce costs by 50%, now is the time to modernise continuing healthcare in order to deliver efficiencies, lower costs, and free up workforce capacity.
“At IEG4, we are dedicated to supporting ICBs through this challenging landscape and ensuring that they deliver a streamlined service that responds to those challenges and stakeholder expectations”.
The move to a fully digital CHC solution is expected to improve visibility, efficiency, governance, and financial control across services.
In March, Digital Health reported how West Yorkshire ICB went live with the IEG4 platform at Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership to help ease the transition from children and young people’s care to adult care.
