Australian software provider, iSoft, has signed five new contracts with hospitals in Germany worth €3.9m.

The company, which has recently seen large drops in its share prices, has signed deals with Stadtklinik Frankenthal and Rudolf Virchow hospital at Glauchau for its ClinicCentre hospital information system.

Both of the hospitals will switch to ClinicCentre by January 2011, which will provide them with a central hub that makes accurate patient and clinical information available across the hospitals.

The 335-bed Rudolf Virchow has also signed to take iSoft’s BusinessCentre application for financial accounting and a third-party pharmacy system, all of which will be integrated.

In addition, the Verbundklinikum Landkreis Ansbach has signed a deal with the company for its web portal, which will allow GPs in the region to write online referrals and provide secure online access to patient records.

The hospital will also use iSoft’s referral management to analyse trends and tailor its services more accurately to referring GPs and patients, iSoft’s enterprise scheduling to improve resource management, appointments planning and avoid duplication and its data warehousing system.

The Universitätsklinikum Leipzig, which signed a deal to implement iSoft’s Lorenzo in 2005, has placed an order for a laboratory information system for all pathology departments at the large teaching hospital.

The laboratory will support 400 laboratory staff and 230 computer terminals and a further 500 terminals will be installed in around 60 wards and outpatient clinics for clinical staff to request tests and view results online.

Radiologie Hannover has signed a deal for iSoft radiology to connect two different sites in Hannover to improve appointment scheduling and share results and diagnostic reports electronically. The single, integrated system will aim to reduce delays in retrieving images and reports and also improve staff efficiency, eliminate duplicate tests, and help cut waiting times and costs.

Each of the five contracts includes maintenance and support services for the next five years.
