An interactive e-learning tool has been launched to accompany the European Coordination Committee of the Radiological, Electromedical and Healthcare IT Industry Code of Conduct, aiming to facilitate knowledge and understanding of the key principles.

COCIR has launched its e-learning tool to help agents, distributors and suppliers better understand how to use the pan-European Code of Conduct that sets the ethical standard for companies in their interactions with healthcare professionals.

“The COCIR Code of Conduct is a guide to industry best practice and all companies, agents, customers and distributors are encouraged to comply with its provisions,” said Nicole Denjoy, COCIR secretary general, in her introduction to the course.

She added that this was the first time an e-learning tool has been made available to a wide audience free of charge to better understand the rules followed by the industry and build awareness on their implementation.

The Code of Conduct was first developed in 2009. It now includes interpretive guidance in the form of ‘questions and answers’ and ‘do’s and don’ts’, which have been published in an online booklet.

In addition to the English version, the COCIR Code is available in Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish and French. The e-learning tool can be accessed from the COCIR website. In recognition of completion of the course, students are awarded a certificate.
