Following a record 95 applications, judges have selected 25 digital health start-ups to advance to the next stage of Digital Health Rewired Pitchfest 2024.

Some of the best start-ups from across the UK, Europe, US and Australia applied following the opening of applications in September, with those shortlisted now set to battle it out in virtual heats for a place in the live finals at Rewired at the NEC in Birmingham, 12-13 March.

The shortlist is split across pre-revenue and revenue generating categories and includes solutions across teen health, breast cancer, respiratory medical devices, sleep apps, clinical search engines and a variety of AI solutions.

Pre-revenue generating category

Heat 1 – Joii, Luna, Arete, Dotplot, Curb

Heat 2 – Rewire, EarSwitch, Cogni.Dx, PIPRA, MediTask

Heat 3 – Aspedan, Upfront Diagnostics, Bulbitech, Continual Sleep, HopStair

Revenue generating category

Heat 1 – Healthy.io, Bingli, Hexitime, Kidney Beam, MyMynd

Heat 2 – Salutare, Medwise.ai, Amelio Health, Goggleminds, FibriCheck

These start-ups will now perform a three-minute online pitch to judges, with the virtual heats starting from today (15 January). Four submissions from each category will be selected to progress as finalists. These will be announced at the beginning of February.

The finalists will have the chance to win an NHS test bed site, which could involve their innovation being rolled out at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust through the CW Innovation programme – a collaboration between the trust and its partner charity CW+.

Last year, Hera were crowned Pitchfest winners in the start-up category and Limbic were selected as the first-ever Pitchfest scale-up champion, giving them a platform to raise their profile and reach new heights, as CEO Ross Harper explained to Lizzie Cernik back in December.

Digital Health Rewired, the premier educational conference and networking event for health IT, takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on 12-13 March 2024.
