County Durham and Darlington go live with Health Call’s Patient Portal

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust have launched their Patient Engagement Portal this week in partnership with NHS-owned digital health company Health Call.

The trust was able to rapidly implement MyHealthCall PEP, a proven technology that connects patients with their care organisations through the NHS App, thanks to the Health Call Platform Integration Engine.

MyHealthCall PEP, is now live and will initially allow selected patients to manage outpatient appointments digitally, with the intention to make this available to all relevant/appropriate patients.

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is the first organisation in the county to leverage Health Call’s Platform Integration Engine, which has been designed to expedite PEP implementation by seamlessly integrating it with current and legacy systems to enable swift deployment.

County Durham and Darlington’s chief information officer, Farouq Din, said: “The easy to use patient engagement portal makes it easier and quicker for our patients to arrange, check and stay informed about their health appointments.  Ensuring our patients have the very best quality care and experience is our priority and we’re pleased they will be the first to benefit from this platform.”

The engine accelerates the implementation process and ensures that organisations can quickly incorporate new features as they become available on the NHS App.

Health Call’s Platform Integration Engine, which uses cloud-hosted Mirth technology, also offers customisable solutions without complex coding. It empowers healthcare providers to configure workflows and data transformations and facilitates real-time data exchange, ensuring patients can access the most up-to-date information about their care.

The streamlined implementation process, which enables rapid adoption of MyHealthCall PEP, can be used to support future implementations, promising scalability and expedited onboarding for other organisations.

Ian Dove, managing director at Health Call, said: “The launch of MyHealthCall PEP in County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is exciting for the Trust but also holds personal significance, as it will enable my family and loved ones an enhanced experience via the NHS App – I can see clearly the benefits it will bring to their care and so many others across County Durham.”

MyHealthCall PEP also went live at North Tees NHS Foundation Trust last year.
