  • Partnership between Doccla and Gophr will enhance the former’s logistics capabilities for rapid deployment of medical devices across the UK
  • With live services in every London NHS ICB, it means same-day deliveryĀ  inside the M25
  • The two-tier model also offers pre-scheduled, same-day medical deliveries to NHS hospitals nationwide

Virtual care provider Doccla has joined forces with delivery firm Gophr to support the rapid deployment of medical devices and tablets to patients and hospital sites.

Doccla supports virtual wards and home-based care through its Bluetooth-enabled devices such as blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, thermometers and multi-parameter wrist watches.

The partnership, which started in February 2025, leverages Gophr’s platform to provide real-time GPS tracking and notifications for collection and delivery of devices and equipment.

Celine Lavaud, chief business operations officer, Doccla,Ā said: ā€œMany of our users require urgent remote monitoring on the day they’re discharged from the hospital, and most logistics providers simply can’t offer the speed, flexibility or patient sensitivity needed for healthcare.

ā€œWith Gophr, we’ve found a partner that not only understands the operational and human demands of healthcare, but also offers a certainty of delivery that a traditional carrier can’t.ā€

The Gophr platform also supports specific protocols for doorstep deliveries of medical items; allows for online proof of delivery with photos; and offers support from a live customer service team backed by AI.

For urgent needs, an on-demand, same-day delivery service operates from Doccla’s Wembley hub, getting equipment to patients and hospital sites within the M25. In addition, for larger items heading to NHS hospitals across the country, a pre-scheduled, same-day service is available.

In its search for a logistics partner, Doccla needed a company with medical delivery experience as well as the ability to provide high-volume, patient-centric deliveries.

Graham Smith, strategic account director at Gophr, said:Ā ā€œIn medical logistics, both speed and accuracy are non-negotiable.

“Delays or delivery errors can compromise patient care, which is why our systems are built to ensure every item arrives at the right place, at the right time – especially when health outcomes depend on it.

ā€œOur couriers are trained to handle clinical-grade deliveries with care and professionalism, ensuring equipment reaches the destination promptly, no matter the circumstances.ā€

By the end of this 2025, Gophr is forecast to have made over 10,000 deliveries to patients’ homes through the partnership.

Doccla announced in December 2024 that it had secured £35 million in a Series B funding round led by venture capital firm Lakestar.

The firm said it would use the investment to fund its expansion in Europe’s life sciences sector, with a focus on France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

It followed a financial injection of €5 millionĀ (Ā£4.21m) from Bertelsmann Investments in November 2023.
