📣Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board has announced plans to procure an ambient voice/dictation tool to reduce clinical burden, improve the accuracy of documentation and save time that can be redirected to patient care. Mark Singleton, chief digital and information officer at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said in a LinkedIn post that it will be the “largest AVT [Ambient Voice Technology] procurement in NHS history”.
📈 Rewired Pitchfest 2023 finalist Healthtech-1, has been listed on the Sifted 250 list, charting the 250 fastest-growing startups in Europe according to revenue growth. The automated registrations firm was also ranked eighth on Sifted’s UK and Ireland list in March 2025.
💊 Software firm Agilo has launched two digital platforms built specifically for pharmacy customers. iComply is an all-in-one compliance platform while iTeam is an HR platform designed to streamline team management, rotas, onboarding and more.
☁️ProtoFlex has launched a cloud-first, digital pathway platform for care coordination across health and social care. The platform brings together patients, clinicians and care providers to support personalised and holistic care journeys and offers remote monitoring for chronic conditions.
🔏Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in enhancing hospital security, after partnering with Verkada, a provider of AI-powered physical security technology. The partnership has simplified management of the trust’s video security camera network, streamlines operations and safeguards patient privacy.
❓Did you know?
A cohort of the Genomics England Generation Study has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of eye cancer as a result of being in the study which is screening 100,000 newborn babies in England for more than 200 genetic conditions.
Blood taken from the four-week old baby’s umbilical cord was sent off for whole genome sequencing, which led to an early diagnosis of retinoblastoma, which could help preserve his sight.
The Generation Study launched in 51 hospitals in England in 2024 and will run until 2027. The 20,000 participants so far, have received ‘condition suspected results’ in 60 cases, allowing the babies identified to receive follow-up testing early on, potentially slowing the progression of their conditions.
