🏹 Digital Notts has published its Annual Report 2025-2026, which the authors say highlights progress across a range of programmes designed to support joined-up care, improve access to services and reduce digital exclusion. The report also showcases how organisations are working together to make better use of technology, information and data to support frontline services and improve outcomes for local people.
🦿 Rambam Health Care Campus, EOS, and PTC are working together to establish a Digital Implant Engineering Centre at Rambam in Haifa, Israel. A team of engineers and physicians plan to work together to design, develop and produce customised patient implants and devices using metal 3D printing. The collaboration combines Rambam’s clinical expertise, EOS’s industrial 3D printing technology and PTC’s Creo computer-aided design solution.
🏠 A total of 1,260 patients have been referred to a partnership that aims to provide more responsive, coordinated and compassionate care to people with life‑limiting conditions in Bedfordshire since its launch in December 2025. The Bedfordshire Palliative Coordination Service, a collaboration between Keech Hospice, Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice and the NHS, also provides palliative paramedic provision to offer patients specialist care in their own homes.
🦷 A dental diagnostics company from King’s College London and the University of Surrey has secured £1.7million in a pre-seed investment round led by Sure Valley Ventures and supported by Innovate UK’s Investor Partnership Growth Catalyst programme. BeCertain has developed an AI software assistant designed to support clinicians in their workflow, with the first use case in assisting the interpretation of 2D intraoral X-rays.
🔒 Swiss-based sovereign intelligence company Prem AI has launched Enclave, a platform that enables health organisations to run large AI models on sensitive data with end-to-end encryption. Unlike existing confidential computing solutions, which protect individual machines, Enclave encrypts distributed GPU clusters, allowing AI models to run privately, with cryptographic proof that data remains inaccessible.

One of the largest health authorities in the world has released a case study detailing the roll-out of a single sign on (SSO) solution.
WA Health is Western Australia’s public health system, spanning more than 2.5 million square kilometres and employing more than 65,000 staff across metropolitan, regional and remote sites.
Imprivata’s clinical team worked with WA Health to deliver a statewide solution. The requirement for Imprivata was to provide a consistent and secure access approach to clinical systems to remove inconsistencies with login methods.
The organisation deployed Imprivata Enterprise Access Management with SSO to 25,000 users to eliminate the need for dozens of daily logins. Cross-functional evaluation teams including IT and clinical representatives worked together to integrate SSO, and secure logins to workflows without the need for multiple manual entries of passwords.
The Imprivata onboarding team assisted with the initial configuration and rollout of the solution and provided expertise and support to ensure secure rollout and efficient workflows.

Hundreds of units of blood have been discarded by NHS trusts due to storage equipment failures leaving it potentially unsafe, according to figures obtained by a UK safety company.
Blood must be stored within strict temperature ranges to remain usable. If a hospital or blood bank fridge fails, staff are often unable to verify if the blood was stored correctly, meaning it may have to be destroyed.
Figures obtained by Drax Technology found that in just one incident, 134 units of blood were destroyed following a trust’s fridge failure in May 2024. One unit of donated blood is about 470ml, almost half a litre, or just under a pint.
Freedom of Information requests were sent to all NHS trusts to determine the extent of the storage problems over the past three years. Of the NHS Trusts contacted, 57 responded. Of those, 36 said they had experienced no issues, while 21 or 36% of respondents reported incidents that resulted in a total of 507 units of blood being discarded.
In some cases, the problems were caused by fridge or freezer failures, while others resulted from alarm or temperature-monitoring faults, including one that resulted in the disposal of 66 units of blood.
