  • Derbyshire Healthcare is rolling out Psyomics’ digital mental health platform across community services from July 2026
  • The platform enables patients to complete digital assessments ahead of appointments, with information integrated into clinical systems
  • The trust says the technology will support patient flow, reduce administrative workload and improve clinical productivity

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has partnered with digital mental health company Psyomics to introduce a digital platform designed to improve access to care and reduce pressure on clinicians across its community mental health services.

The platform will go live during the second quarter of 2026/27 on a phased basis, starting with community services in July.

The trust procured Psyomics’ beseen Adult platform as part of a wider transformation programme within its Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), focused on improving patient flow, increasing patient involvement in the early stages of care and supporting clinical productivity.

Dr Girish Kunigiri, executive medical director at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Here at Derbyshire Healthcare, we understand the value of creating a data-driven journey for patients, from their first contact with us.

“We believe we can give people a more personalised experience, and at the same time free up our frontline colleagues to focus on providing care.

“This is one of several digital innovations we are making over the next 12 months as we look to improve patient experience, reduce waiting times and make the Trust a better place to work.”

Developed in collaboration with clinical psychologists, psychiatrists and researchers at the University of Cambridge, the platform enables patients to complete digital assessments ahead of appointments, capturing information about symptoms alongside social and personal circumstances.

The information will be integrated directly into the trust’s clinical systems, providing clinicians with a broader understanding of a patient’s needs before their first consultation.

The platform automates administrative processes, including sending validated questionnaires, scoring responses and uploading results into the medical record.

It is intended to reduce manual workload for clinical and administrative teams while supporting NHS England’s focus on clinical productivity.

By gathering patient-reported information before appointments, the system also aims to help clinicians spend more time delivering care and less time on administrative tasks.

Dr Melinda Rees, chief executive at Psyomics, said: “We are delighted to be working with Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to make mental health services more accessible, efficient and patient-centred.

“By combining clinical expertise with technology, we can help modernise NHS mental health pathways and improve both patient experience and clinical efficiency.”

Psyomics is continuing to develop its digital mental health tools in partnership with NHS and private sector organisations, with a focus on streamlining assessment and information gathering.

In October 2025, North London NHS Foundation Trust partnered with the firm to improve how people across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington access mental healthcare.
