London RID suspended pending investigation

  • 15 April 2005

NHS Connecting for Health has announced that its regional implementation director for London, David Kwo, was suspended from duty on Thursday, 14 April pending investigations into allegations against him.

Connecting for Health would not comment on the nature of the allegations against Kwo or say who had suspended him.

The statement from Connecting for Health, which was distributed to senior personnel today said: "The suspension is not a judgement but a precautionary measure to ensure that an appropriate and fair investigation can take place."

It says that Kwo will remain suspended until such time as the investigation has been completed.

Kwo was appointed to the top job for the London cluster of the Connecting for Health’s National Programme for IT following a successful period as director of information at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

While he is suspended, Martyn Forrest, regional implementation director for the North East cluster, will be acting regional implementation director for London.
