The latest rankings of health related-websites place MSN (Microsoft Network) Health as the most visited US health Web site.

MSN Health surged into the top spot by attracting 2.1 million unique visitors in the week ending June 23, knocking WebMD, the previous leader off the number one slot. WebMD in second place attracted 1.49 million unique visitors.

MSN was just one of the health sites showing strong growth in traffic as health-related headlines continued to draw visitors in June.

Diet- or fitness-related sites, rather than sites providing clinical or treatment information, occupied three of the top 10 spots, while leading US online pharmacy Drugstore.com occupied the fourth place slot.

The newcomer to the list is a site called Healthandage.com. This site, which promotes “healthy aging,” is sponsored by the not-for-profit Novartis Foundation for Gerontology. Its traffic swelled by 82% as it climbed into the top 10.
