Revamp of Chief Executives Information Forum Announced

The NHS Chief Executives Information Forum (CEIF), which has represented chief executives views, advice and input to the NHS information and IT agenda for the last four years, is to be re-constituted with a new membership.

While the existing CEIF is acknowledged to have had an important role in developing the national NHS IT strategy, the goal is to refocus the group to focus on delivery of the NHS modernisation agenda on IT.

According to the Department of Health’s Chief Executive Bulletin chief executives are now being sought who wish to support the development of the new corporate NHS relationship with IT suppliers.

Further new roles for the revamped CEIF will be to advise on the realisation of benefits and progress the forum’s role in influencing the modernisation/change agenda.

A workshop will be held in London on 9 December 2002, at which the future role of the CEIF Forum will be discussed and membership agreed. The event will be attended by the new director general of NHS IT Richard Granger.

The Chief Executive’s Bulletin says that the workshop will also discuss funding for the information and IT agenda, will be discussed.

The venue for the workshop is Regents College, Conference Centre, Inner Circle, Regents Park, London NW1 4NS, Room J commencing at 10.30 for 11am finishing at approximately 3pm (lunch will be provided)
