Sollis brings Clarity to commissioners

  • 11 November 2010

Data analysis specialist Sollis has integrated risk stratification and predictive modelling software into its Clarity product suite.

The company said the software would help to deliver intelligent information to support GP commissioning consortia, as they developed as a result of the government’s ‘Liberating the NHS’ white paper.

Sollis said it had worked with Johns Hopkins University in the US to incorporate the UK version of its Adjusted Clinical Groups System into its product suite to provide a fully integrated and complete toolkit for commissioners.

The company said the ACG System is used in sites across 16 countries, creating a common language for healthcare analysis and providing a basis for assessment of population demand and quality of care.

Sollis said the enhanced solution would help users assess provider performance and set budgets, while also enabling commissioners to understand the morbidity burden of their population, plan for future healthcare requirements and improve outcomes.

The development adds to Sollis’s existing tools which support contract management, claims management and practice-based commissioning.

Nigel Slone, managing director of Sollis, said there was a growing need for information and informatics solutions that were clinically-based.

He added: “The challenge is to deliver intelligence that helps commissioners deliver on an NHS agenda focused on quality of care, improved health outcomes and value for money.

"In this respect our solutions are a direct response to the analytical and information challenges posed by the white paper.”
