Spread it quietly, but spread the word: EHI will be running a speakeasy at EHI Live for the first time.

The speakeasy, sponsored by Shearwater Healthcare Solutions, will kick off at 9pm and run until late on Tuesday, 5 November; providing exhibitors and visitors with the perfect opportunity to relax over a drink or two.

EHI director Linda Davidson said: “We know that making new contacts, listening to the grapevine, and bumping into old friends is all part of the mix that makes a show worthwhile.

“The Speakeasy is the place where all that will happen at EHI Live. So round up the gang, get your hands on some hooch and join us for a late session of smooth music and good conversation.”

EHI Live 2013 is a two day conference and exhibition bringing together the very best speakers, practitioners and suppliers of healthcare IT in the UK. This year, the annual event takes place in a new, larger hall at the NEC in Birmingham from 5 to 6 November.

The Speakeasy will be set up at the Crowne Plaza Hotel just across the lake from the exhibition hall on the middle night of the show. Visitors can dine locally and then make their way across to the venue, which will feature a jazz band and bar.

All delegates and suppliers are welcome. “There will be no bathtub gin,” Davidson added. “Just a great place to wind down with a nightcap shared with friends.”

EHI Live 2013 is more than a meeting, more than an exhibition. For anyone involved in the use of information in healthcare it’s a golden opportunity to update knowledge, get answers to questions, meet the experts and think about the future. This year’s conference is free for all visitors to attend.
