Ming Tang, chief data and analytics officer for NHS England, will deliver a keynote speech on the use of healthcare data at Digital Health Rewired 2025.

The NHS 10-year plan is the government’s “once in a lifetime chance” to shape a digital health service for the future and Tang will play a key role as one of the co-chairs of the data and technology enabling working group.

Under the direction of health secretary Wes Streeting, Tang and Dr Tim Ferris, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, will co-chair the group which will define how the NHS should focus its resources to maximise the impact of data and technology.

The group will provide practical steps to enable the NHS to innovate, sketching out a road map for a digitally connected future.

Speaking on the co-located AI and Data conference at Rewired 2025, Tang’s session will focus on how the NHS can generate insights and extract value from healthcare data to improve patient outcomes.

Tang has more than 20 years of experience in managing and delivering large scale change projects in the health sector, implementing new operating models in complex and challenging environments.

Prior to joining NHS England, she led commissioning support services in the West Midlands as managing director for healthcare commissioning services before leading South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Commissioning Support Unit.

Tang will join a growing list of the UK’s leading healthcare digital experts from the NHS and private sector appearing at Rewired 2025.

The Rewired programme has now been published in draft, showcasing the most important national programmes and local initiatives underway to accelerate the shift from analogue to digital health.

Rewired 2025 will take place at the NEC in Birmingham on 18-19 March 2025 and is free for those in the NHS and public sector. Private sector tickets are available from £495 +VAT.
