New Scottish national digital pathology system out to tender
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has published a £5 million tender to replace its histopathology glass slides with a digital system.
The four-year contract will begin with a six-month pilot involving Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the neighbouring NHS Lothian. However, if successful, it could be rolled out nationally.
The contract would cover scanning hardware, accompanying software and training to support deployment of the new pathology system. It would also be a set up as framework, for potential adoption by other Scottish health boards.
Potential suppliers have until 26 January to respond.
iQ Healthtech wins Christie EPMA contract
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust has awarded a contract to iQ Healthtech to provide a new chemotherapy prescribing and medicines administration system. The Dorset-based SME beat three other suppliers that tendered for the contract, bidding between £610,795 and £1.875 million.
The Manchester trust is one of the largest specialist cancer treatment centres in Europe and will use the new system to support prescribing, verification and admiration of chemotherapy medication. It plans to deploy the system before May this year.
NHS National Services Scotland tender for port task tracking system
NHS National Services Scotland has tender a £2 million national contract to provide an “automatic dispatcherless porter task tracking system”. The four-year contract will be set-up as a single supplier framework available to all Scottish health boards and is expect to cover both the software and training to deploy the system.
Medway NHS Foundation Trust tender’s maternity system.
Medway NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a new electronic maternity system, which will form the “first foundation” for the trust’s ambition to become paperless by 2020. The five-year contract is expected to be valued at £755,000 and covers both acute and community maternity services at the Kent trust.
It should include a portal to allow patients to access their clinical notes. Tenders will be accepted until 13 January.
Wales picks Hicom for paediatric diabetes system
NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership has awarded Hicom Technology a £103,050 contract to deploy its paediatric diabetes information system across the country. The company’s Twinkle.NET product will provide a standard electronic platform across Wales’ six paediatric diabetes services, three of which already use the product.
