Siemens Healthcare has entered into one of the largest technology partnerships in India to provide imaging and IT solutions to the new Medanta-The Medicity Hospital.

The Medanta is one of India’s largest upcoming hospitals made up of a research centre, a medical and nursing school and 1,250 beds, as well as 45 operating theatres catering to over 20 specialities.

Dr. Naresh Trehan, chairman, managing director and founder of the hospital, said that the partnership would build on his vision of providing affordable medical services.

Trehan said: “It is my vision to build an institute in India, which matches the highest standards of healthcare delivery across the world. At Medanta, technology and innovation will be the key drivers for providing high-end services and at the same time keeping patient cost low, so I welcome our partnership with Siemens.”

As part of the partnership, Siemens will also provide the hospital in Gurgaon, New Delhi, with a range of Siemen’s latest healthcare technology solutions.

Dhandapany Ragavan, Siemen’s sector chief executive officer for healthcare for South Asia, said: “Siemens shares a strong relationship with Dr Trehan and with this collaboration, we have strengthened our partnership further. Dr Trehan’s ambition is to build Medanta–TheMedicity as one of the top most facilities in this part of the globe.

“To realise this vision he needs the world’s best technologies and we are installing our latest and top of the line technologies in Medanta, which will help the clinicians and the patients.”
