TPP drums out jobs on TomTom

TPP has announced an integration with TomTom Webfleet to allow SystmOne out-of-hours services to manage vehicles for home visits.

The integration means that if a SystmOne patient requires a home visit, the case can be sent directly as a job to a TomTom device in a vehicle.

Staff dispatching visits will be able to view the location of the vehicles on a map, as well as the visits currently assigned to each vehicle.

The job can then be assigned and updated on the TomTom device, which sends updates to SystmOne via the Webfleet application.

A TPP statement says the integration will ensure home visits can be can allocated more efficiently, eliminating the need for vehicles to travel a greater distance than necessary and ultimately reducing the number of cases which breach the required target.

“With the ability to send the closest vehicle to the patient home, the application enables services to highlight fuel usage and their carbon footprint, making them more cost efficient as well as saving clinician’s time,” it says.

To allow services to accurately predict future resources, the TomTom Webfleet application includes reporting functionality for vehicle activity.

The reporting aspect can also show vehicle speed and time spent in certain locations, helping services to maximise their resources.

The new functionality will be made available to services using the SystmOne out-of-hours call centre and primary care centre modules following formal testing.

Services who would like to use the functionality will need to contact TomTom directly or G-Force Communications Ltd.
