Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust has signed a five-year deal for TPP’s SystmOne to help share information between clinicians for almost one million patients.
The trust will implement SystmOne modules for community, child health, community hospitals and minor injury units as part of the contract.
The trust is the largest community healthcare provider in London with around 3500 staff across 160 locations, covering the boroughs of Barnet, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster.
Ian Millar, the trust’s director of finance, performance and corporate resources, said the investment in SystmOne and its mobile working solutions will support the trust’s “commitment to delivering high quality services for our patients”.
“Crucially, the introduction of SystmOne technology will help staff to work more effectively so that they can spend more time with patients in their communities.”
Millar said the implementation of SystmOne, which will enable the sharing of health information between local clinicians for almost one million patients, is part of the trust’s five-year, £21m IT strategy to improve its use of technology.
As part of the strategy, the trust has issued 165 smart devices to clinical staff, introduced video conferencing and virtual meeting rooms, improved bandwidth and introduced more reliable wireless internet networks to a number of sites, and introduced a “more robust” electronic document management system.
Millar said the first 12 months of the plan have gone well, with the changes helping the trust to improve its services to patients and “move with the times”.
“We have to ensure that all our record keeping of patient information is secure but also the way in which we capture it is agile and modern to ensure our patients receive the best possible NHS care.”
Adele Cotter, account executive at TPP, said the company has a strong relationship with the trust and is “delighted” to have signed the contract.
“As our coverage in the London area continues to grow this is a fantastic step forward and is great news for both staff and patients in the area.”
TPP have signed a new five-year agreement with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust to implement the SystmOne community, child health, community hospital and minor injury unit modules.
The trust will have a staggered go live of SystmOne starting in October this year, with the community hospital module the first to go live.
