It is the last chance for digital healthcare start-ups to seize the opportunity and apply for the 2022 edition of Rewired Pitchfest.

The annual competition that takes place at Digital Health Rewired, provides start-ups with the chance to pitch to a stellar line-up of judges including NHS IT leaders and investors.

Held at the Business Design Centre in London on Wednesday, March 16, Pitchfest will take place on day two of Digital Health Rewired – a week-long festival celebrating the best of digital, data and innovation in health and care that will include an exciting new virtual fringe.

Last year’s Pitchfest saw a record 120 start-ups battle it out to be crowned champion, resulting in Peppy Health claiming first place and subsequently £6m in funding earlier in 2021.

As the winner of Pitchfest Peppy Health was offered the opportunity to have their innovation rolled-out at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust through the CW Innovation Programme – a collaboration between the trust and its charity CW+.

For the last three years CW+ have signed up to support the competition and again will be offering the winner the chance to test and scale their idea at the hospital.

Chris Chaney, chief executive of CW+ and co-lead of CW Innovation, said: “With the Covid-19 outbreak helping to accelerate innovation across health and care, there has never been a better time to take part in Digital Health Rewired Pitchfest.

“We’re really excited to see the applications and look forward to working with the winner, who will have the opportunity to test and scale their innovation at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as part of the flagship CW Innovation programme, run in partnership with CW+.

“There’s still time to enter Pitchfest. The entry process is simple and easy, whilst the opportunities on offer could really make a difference to the growth of your start-up.

“We encourage anyone with an idea or innovation that improves patient care or experience to apply for Pitchfest 2022 by Friday 10 December, 5pm.”

Entrants should be start-ups or registered businesses that have been established for less than three years, with their primary focus of activity being health and social care services, medical devices, consumer health and wellbeing or life sciences.

Jon Hoeksma, CEO of Digital Health, added: “The annual Rewired Pitchfest competition has become a great showcase of the brightest and best start-ups in digital health, providing a great opportunity for early-stage innovators to build profile with current NHS digital leaders and investors.

“Throughout the pandemic and looking ahead to recovery we’ve seen digital health start-ups seize the opportunity to show what they can deliver.”
