Digital Health Pitchfest finalist MediShout has raised $9 million (£6.6m) in Series A funding to accelerate expansion of its platform across Europe and the US.

MediShout replaces siloed systems with a centralised digital interface for hospital staff to report issues, track status updates in real time and coordinate spare parts, kits and maintenance across suppliers.

Its dual-sided platform connects hospitals, suppliers and patients managing their at-home medical devices. The platform currently offers multiple core modules covering equipment faults, loan kit management, maintenance, purchase orders, and supplier product support.

It also integrates with the major hospital IT systems used by clinical engineering and sterile services, ensuring hospitals and suppliers can better manage workflows.

Dr Ash Kalraiya, chief executive and founder of MediShout, said: “Every new supplier or hospital that joins MediShout strengthens the network.

“This funding allows us to grow that network faster and deliver even more value where it matters: at the point of care.

“We’re not just digitising healthcare for hospitals — we’re creating an infrastructure for smoother care delivery.”

The over-subscribed Series A funding round was led by Heal Capital, with follow-on participation from existing investors including Nickleby Capital and the NHS-backed venture fund, Meridian Health Ventures.

With the new funding, the company will scale operations across mainland Europe and enter the US market. It plans to hire across software and commercial teams to accelerate product development and deepen partner relationships.

Christian Lautner, founding managing partner at Heal Capital, said: “MediShout is redefining what operational excellence looks like in healthcare.

“They’ve created a category-defining platform, one that improves service levels, reduces costs and ultimately makes patient care safer.”

In UK hospitals, MediShout says that it has helped reduce surgery cancellations by up to 44% and saves up to 4.5 hours per faulty device reported.

Medical suppliers integrating with the platform also report up to 50% faster loan kit returns, the company claims.

Founded by former NHS doctors Kalraiya and Dr Ali Bahsoun, MediShout raised more than $5 million (£3.66m) in seed funding in 2023, backed by Episode 1, Nickleby Capital and Meridian Health Ventures.

MediShout reached the list of Digital Health Rewired Pitchfest finalists in 2021 for its app that digitises operational processes to save time.

In November 2024, another former Pitchfest finalist, Little Journey, announced £6 million in Series A  funding for its platform to help paediatric care through personalised psychological support.

Little Journey reached the 2022 final of the annual Pitchfest competition for digital health startups, for its digital eSupport platform designed to psychologically prepare, inform and support children and families before, during and after healthcare interactions.
