The Menopause Network launches digital platform for midlife care

The Menopause Network has launched a platform for healthcare professionals and patients to raise the standard of menopause and midlife care across the UK.

The platform allows patients to search for clinicians, connect with experts, and find medical professionals near them, with the aim of creating a stronger link between evidence-based care and those who need it most.

Research by the Fawcett Society found that one in 10 women who worked during menopause have left a job because of their symptoms and many more reduce their hours or skip promotions.

Aileen Cameron, founder of The Menopause Network, said: “We built The Menopause Network to close the gap between evidence and access.

“With an estimated 13 million people navigating peri-menopause and menopause in the UK, too many still face stigma, misinformation, and inconsistent care.”

The Menopause Network reports that there are more than 400 recognised menopause specialists in the UK with approximately 50 specialist menopause clinics within in the NHS which are accessible via GP referral.

However there are still counties in England with no NHS specialist menopause clinic, and waits can stretch to more than a year in some areas, demonstrating persistent inequity of access.

In November 2024, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) updated its menopause guideline NG23 to strengthen evidence-based care pathways, including first-line use of HRT for vasomotor symptoms.

The Menopause Network officially launched at PAUSE Live 2025 on 4 October 2025 in London, with the aim of delivering evidence-based care for core menopause symptoms aligned with NICE NG23 and providing clinical courses for healthcare professionals.

It aims to improve patient outcomes by promoting tailored, equitable care and equipping medical professionals with tools, training, and collaborative community to transform standards of care.

“Our purpose is simple: equip clinicians with rigorous, up-to-date training and connect patients with trusted specialists so the right help is easier to find, closer to home, and aligned to NICE guidance.

“A national network means shared standards, faster learning, and better outcomes,” Cameron added.

Meanwhile, in July 2025, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust launched MENO.pause, an app that helps clinicians manage patients’ menopause symptoms. The web-based tool is hosted on the technology platform Clinibee, which streamlines clinical pathways, referrals, and decision-making in healthcare.
