  • It will bring care planning, scheduling and mobile working tools into a single system

North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) has partnered with workforce technology supplier Totalmobile to implement a new digital platform designed to improve the planning, management and delivery of care at home services across the region.

The partnership supports more than 2,000 people and delivers approximately 36,000 care visits a week.

With demand for services continuing to rise and care needs becoming increasingly complex, the organisation said it was seeking a modern, integrated platform to help frontline teams work more effectively while supporting the long-term sustainability of services.

Totalmobile’s Field First platform will be rolled out over the coming months to more than 1,200 frontline staff and around 80 back-office colleagues.

The system will bring together care planning, scheduling, mobile working, lone worker protection and reporting capabilities within a single platform.

Kerry Logan, head of service for health and community care services at North Ayrshire HSCP, said: “This programme is about supporting our staff and improving how we deliver care for people across North Ayrshire.

“Moving to a modern, integrated platform with enhanced functionality will help us plan visits more effectively, keep information up to date and respond quickly when needs change. It is an important step in building a sustainable, person-centred Care at Home service for the future.”

The organisation said the move will replace existing systems and provide greater visibility across services, improve coordination and support faster responses to changing care requirements.

The implementation comes as health and care organisations across the UK continue to invest in digital tools aimed at improving workforce efficiency, reducing administrative burden and enabling more coordinated care delivery in community settings.

According to Totalmobile, the platform is designed to help care providers optimise workforce deployment while giving staff access to real-time information in the field.

Ricky Moore, managing director for public sector at Totalmobile, said: “Councils across the UK are placing greater emphasis on community-based care, recognising the role it plays in helping people stay independent while easing pressure on wider health services.

“What North Ayrshire is doing here is a practical step in that direction – making better use of the workforce they already have and giving teams the structure they need to deliver care more consistently.”

North Ayrshire HSCP said the investment forms part of its wider programme to modernise care delivery, support staff wellbeing and improve access to care at home services.

In February 2025, East Ayrshire HSCP also partnered with Totalmobile to optimise its at-home care services.
