Atos Origin to deliver French health certification

  • 16 September 2008

Atos Worldwide, a subsidiary of Atos Origin, has signed a contract with the French Superior Health Authority to implement and host an information system for the certification of healthcare providers across France.

As part of its mission to improve the quality of healthcare, the Superior Health Authority (HAS) decided to establish a platform dedicated to the certification of healthcare facilities, in a project called SARA.

The agency has appointed Atos Worldline to provide the design, development, operation and hosting of its SARA certification project. Atos will also provide the training for the implementation of the project.

The SARA project is a secure collaborative information system that aims to automate the processes involved in the certification of healthcare facilities.

The secure technical platform will enable French healthcare establishments to enter their self-assessments and help mandated auditors to draw up their assessment reports. These documents will then be managed and maintained by SARA.

The SARA platform is designed to provide a real one-stop shop for healthcare establishments to provide certification reporting. Under the framework of healthcare reform, SARA will also be accessible to France’s Regional Hospitalisation Agencies.

“We selected Atos Worldline for its understanding of the project issues, its capacity to provide a comprehensive customised service and for the expertise of the teams made available to us to implement this wide-ranging project," explained Mr. Antoine Vigneron, CIO of the Superior Health Authority.

Atos Origin is an international information technology services company. The company’s annual revenues are €5.8 billion and it employs over 50,000 people in 40 countries.
