Movers and shakers news round up

This month’s movers and shakers recaps big announcements from NHSX this month, as well as other mentions from across the provider and supplier systems.

Natasha Phillips is now chief nursing information officer for NHSX.

Phillips, who has been a nurse for 26 years, is the current chief nursing information officer (CNIO) at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH).

Ruth May, chief nursing officer for England, announced the appointment on Twitter. Phillips will take up her role at NHSX in April.

She personally thanked the Digital Health Networks in a note on Twitter, writing: “I am grateful to the [Digital Health] network. You have been a great source of support & learning for me. You & the many inspirational digital nurses I know are key to my success and I look forward to working together in this new role.”

Sonia Patel has been made the new chief information officer for NHSX.

Patel is currently joint CIO at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals Foundation Trust.

NHSX confirmed her appointment on 28 February. Patel will take up her role in the summer.

Commenting on her appointment on Twitter, she said: ā€œTruly honoured to be the voice of the NHS CIOs. Thanks to [Simon Eccles] and [Matthew Gould] for putting their trust and confidence in me to lead with NHSX and the digital community the tech and data vision for the NHS.ā€

Paul Denton has been made deputy chief information officer at Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.

Denton joins Royal Devon this month. He was previously Managing Director & Prinicpal Consultant at Enasec and Programme Manager at NHS Digital.

Vikki Lewis has been made chief digital officer at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

Lewis left Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS FT as CIO and joined Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust as CDIO in January.

Jonas HjortshĆøj has been appointedĀ chief commercial officer at Liva Healthcare.

Jonas brings over 10 years’ of experience from the pharmaceutical industry to the role, where he has held several roles with Novo Nordisk. Most recently, Jonas led the Commercial Partnering activities In the Obesity area at Novo Nordisk, as Associate Global Director

Jonas will be taking his extensive experience and applying it to Liva’s ambitious growth plans among the pharmaceutical and health insurance industries.

On his appointment, HjortshĆøj said: ā€œI am excited and honoured to join Liva’s fast paced and innovative team. I am looking forward to enhancing our value-proposition and cementing our position as a partner to some of the largest health insurers and pharmaceutical companies, while executing on our ambitious international growth plans.ā€
