Magentus continues expansion with new acquisitions

Health tech company Magentus has made a number of acquisitions to accelerate its global expansion.

The company is consolidating Citadel Health, Wellbeing Software and Genie Solutions under a single brand, bringing together operations across the UK and Australia and allowing Magentus to bring its solutions to new regions.

Magentus will bring together the best of each of the three companies to help connect the health ecosystem at scale.

Robert Miller, Magentus EMEA CEO, said: “We’re answering the call for greater interoperability and smarter collaboration, laying the groundwork for more efficient, personalised and preventative care.”

He continued: “… our focus remains on world-class diagnostics, supporting complex pathways and providing the clinical, analytical and organisational tools that support the very best care.

“Our vendor-neutral solutions break down siloes across clinical domains and geographies, and are focused upon enabling smarter collaboration to deliver better healthcare outcomes.”

Citadel Health has recently been making inroads into the UK pathology market, after a long period of leading the field in Australia. The company networked the Southern Hemisphere’s largest single instance public health Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Wellbeing Software is a leading provider of data management and digital healthcare solutions in the UK, already supporting around 80% of NHS trusts and hospitals in the UK and Ireland.

Genie Solutions provides software to medical specialists, to help them manage their practices more effectively and efficiently.

Miller added: “Greater demand being placed upon limited resources has renewed focus on connected health and care solutions that share expertise and break geographical boundaries. Our focus is on helping improve productivity across healthcare networks by reducing wasted time and duplicated effort.”

The announcement of the acquisition comes after it was revealed that Magentus would be rolling out the UK’s most extensive connected LIMS networks via implementation of the national framework across Scotland, and regional deployments in Birmingham and Lancashire & South Cumbria.
