Agilio Software acquires GP patient engagement solutions provider iatro

Leading healthcare operations technology provider Agilio Software has bolstered its patient engagement software offering with the acquisition of iatro.

Since launching in 2019, iatro has quickly developed into an award-winning, go-to solution for primary care organisations by providing simple, patient-facing digital solutions for NHS organisations including integrated care boards (ICBs), primary care networks (PCNs) and GP practices.

Its product portfolio includes Practice365, software that creates easy-to-use websites for practices, enabling patients to easily access the information they need. The company’s OneContact technology secures seamless digital communication between patients and their practice, freeing up valuable time to focus on patient care.

The last 12 months have seen over 1,000 practices adopt iatro’s Practice365 product to enhance the online experience for patients, supporting over 15 million patient information access journeys each month.

Thomas Porteus, founder of iatro, said: “We’re delighted to be joining Agilio to accelerate our ambitions in supporting practices across the country and make a real difference for organisations and professionals delivering primary care.

“Patient engagement is an incredibly important part of patient care, and thanks to our technology, practices can benefit from a simple solution enabling them to communicate easily with their patients and provide them with clear, easily accessible information.”

“The acquisition means that iatro can benefit from Agilio’s leading healthcare operations technology expertise, allowing us to further invest in the rapid expansion of our patient engagement technology,” he added.

iatro will benefit from Agilio’s footprint of over 4,000 GP practices, allowing them to rapidly provide their solutions to this community, whilst complementing the extensive offering of Agilio Software.

With a significant amount of information that is held on Agilio’s TeamNet required for patient communications and being published on the GP websites, a link between TeamNet and iatro will bring the added value of simplifying the distribution of consistent information to patients.

David Taylor, MD of Aglio Primary Care division, said: “The [iatro] team brings vast experience in patient-facing and patient-engagement digital solutions that will greatly benefit the existing offering of Agilio Primary Care.

“We are dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions that will make the everyday lives of healthcare professionals easier without compromising safety, and one of the challenges primary care faces is how to effectively digitise communication with patients.”

Back in May, Agilio Software announced an extension of its long-running partnership with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), which will see it produce clinical knowledge summaries (CKS) for at least three more years.
