Birdie, has been selected to join Tech Nations Future Fifty 2024 cohort – seeing the intelligent platform for homecare follow in the footsteps of companies like Starling Bank, Deliveroo and Revolut.
The Future Fifty serves to support the UK’s most promising late-stage ventures, representing a curated UK-wide network of pre-IPO companies with unicorn potential.
Since its launch in 2014, Future Fifty alumni have collectively raised over £16.3bn. The 2024 cohort of companies has raised over £1.3bn and employs a talent base of over 3,000 people.

Birdie was established in 2017 and is aiming to transform care through technology, enabling more older adults to thrive at home. Its all-in-one solution equips care providers with the tools needed for better quality care, as well as to improve efficiency in day-to-day operations. In 2023, the company was ranked 6th in Deloitte’s top 50 fastest-growing tech companies in the UK. Its platform supports over 1,000 home care providers to deliver 30 million visits.
Future Fifty is the only UK-wide accelerator tailored to late-stage ventures. This year the programme has been revamped to be more experiential, while still providing the resources and opportunities needed to scale a business to unicorn status.
The programme is aligned with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology’s mission to make the UK a ‘scale-up powerhouse’, with Secretary Donelan setting a target for the UK to be home to 50% of all unicorn companies across Europe by 2030.
