Digital Health’s monthly roundup of contracts and go lives

The latest roundup of contracts and go lives includes new electronic patient records (EPRs) for Luton Sexual Health, Northampton General Hospital, and Wilmslow Health Centre.

Luton Sexual Health goes live with Inform Health EPR

Last month, Luton Sexual Health (LSH) implemented Inform Health’s EPR and personal health record (PHR) systems as part of plans to increase patient access and improve service efficiencies.

The PHR has been available through LSH’s website to enable patients across Luton to create and access their sexual health record online. Once registered for the systems, patients can book and cancel appointments and order condoms to be delivered by post.

Since going live at the end of 2024, 2,662 appointments have been made via the PHR, which is easing pressure on LSH’s clerical team and giving patients more control over the health.

Northampton General Hospital goes live with Nervecentre EPR

Northampton General Hospital went live on 28 June 2025 with an EPR system developed by Nervecentre.

The system replaces patient records which were previously stored in a mix of paper files and digital systems, with a central platform.

It is hoped the EPR will enable staff to view the latest medical information instantly, spend less time on administration and more time with patients, avoid asking patients to repeat their history multiple times, improve coordination between departments and services, and keep patient information secure.

Medicus EPR solution goes live at Wilmslow Health Centre

Wilmslow Health Centre went live with the Medicus Health EPR over the space of one weekend, officially going live on 12 May 2025.

Medicus is the first supplier to be fully assured through NHSE’s Tech Innovation Framework, which aims to ensure that new products are fully compliant on information governance, clinical safety and data protection, while integrating with NHS infrastructure such as the electronic prescription service, NHS e-Referral Service and NHS App.

The Medicus Health EPR was recently announced by NHS England as the first new core IT system for 25 years.

Digital platform launched for chronic kidney disease

North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board rolled out the Healthinote digital health platform to provide information and education for patients living with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

The platform, developed by the Cognitant Group, is initially being trialled for one year to support the early detection and prevention of CKD, which is often symptomless in its early stages but can lead to life-threatening complications if left undiagnosed.

A key part of the initiative is the Kidney Essentials programme, which is delivered through the Healthinote platform, a multilingual digital resource co-created with patients and clinicians at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

UCLH launches app to help staff manage menopause symptoms

Doctors at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) and University College London developed an app that helps clinicians to manage menopause patients’ symptoms.

MENO.pause uses national and international guidelines from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, British Menopause Society and the British Gynaecological Cancer Society to help healthcare professionals provide evidence-based treatment options.

The app, which first went live at UCLH on 30 April 2025 and launched officially on 23 July 2025, is a web-based tool developed in collaboration with and hosted on the technology platform Clinibee, a platform designed to streamline clinical pathways, referrals, and decision-making in healthcare.

Powys Teaching Health Board rolls out digital tool for health visitors

Powys Teaching Health Board became the first health board in Wales to roll out the eFRAIT digital tool for health visitors.

The tool is an electronic version of the Family Resilience Assessment Instrument and Tool (FRAIT) developed by researchers from the University of South Wales (USW), to help health visitors with decision making, care planning and planning for further interventions and resources.

The platform has been developed by Dr Mabrouka Abuhmida, senior lecturer in computing and mathematical sciences, who worked closely with USW’s FRAIT team to ensure the digital version replicates the original paper tool while meeting NHS standards for compatibility and data governance.
