NHS Digital chief executive Andy Williams will be joined by a wide range of speakers at the Health CIO National Conference next week.
The conference, run by Digital Health as part of the EHI Live 2016 event, will take place on 1 November at the NEC in Birmingham.
Williams will speak about NHS Digital’s role in digital service delivery. In an interview, last week, Williams told Digital Health News it was NHS Digital role as supporting local digital transformation rather than forcing change from the centre.
The event will also be one of the first public speeches given by Will Smart since he was appointed to the new role of NHS CIO in July.
Smart was previously CIO at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and will be speaking about his role of supporting and partnering with local NHS IT leaders.
Digital Health Intelligence will also run through the latest trends in digital maturity among NHS trusts, three years on from setting up its CDMI rankings.
And Kinnear, regular Digital Health News columnist and CIO at the Central and West Commissioning Support Unit, will be speaking on CIO professionalism and core common qualifications.
Other topics covered will include how to migrate a trust from Windows XP to 10, implementing child protection sharing over multiple organisations, and wi-fi roaming.
The event will end with a debate on the motion, ‘This house believes NHS CIOs must be professionally certified”.
