Norway’s Norsk Helse Telefon 24 (NHT24) a private provider of telephone triage services to Norway and other Scandinavian countries has chosen Clinical Solutions to provide the software behind its telephone health advice service.

NHT24 was launched in June, offering subscription-based telephone advice services to people living in Scandinavian countries.

"NHT24 is entirely a private company based on subscriptions," explained Jan Einer Vaage, chief executive and owner of NHT24.

The clinical decision support and call centre management software from Clinical Solutions will enable staff at NHT24 to offer customers of the 24-hour clinical triage service wherever they are located in the world, and provide information related to acute medical conditions.

NHT24 has outsourced its call centre provision to Global Medical Support, which also provides call centre response services to Sweden’s Air Ambulance service

Clinical Solutions has also worked with NHT24 to create an online service, the website for which is due to be launched this autumn.

Customers of NHT24 will either be able to get subscribe through the health insurer or through personal individual subscriptions. Individual subscriptions are expected to be priced at Euros 44-58 a year.

Vagge told E-Health Europe: "It’s not easy for people to get in contact with a GP in Norway, to have one number to call to get in contact with a doctor or get information; its very important."

The NHT24 boss added: "NHT24 is entirely a private company based on subscriptions." He explained that conversations were now underway with insurers to add the service to their members. "We currently have conversations underway with the biggest health insurance companies in Norway and Scandinavia to bundle subscriptions to the telephone advice service."

Richard Craven, sales and marketing Director at Clinical Solutions said, “We see this as an ideal marriage between a leading technology provider and NHT24 who are innovators in providing leading edge health services to Norway and Scandinavia."

Vaage said that NHT24 had been working with Clinical Solutions since day one and had launched the service after visiting England and Scotland and visiting the nurse-led telephone advice lines NHS Direct and NHS 24

Vaage said: "The service will provide a new and valuable resource for our members by providing 24-hour health assistance and advice from wherever they may be. We selected Clinical Solutions based on its track record in the UK, its understanding of our needs and their forward thinking approach.”
