IMS Italy integrates Barco displays

  • 23 June 2009

Medical imaging specialist Barco has been awarded a major display contract from IMS for the delivery of clinical review displays.

IMS (Internazionale Medico Scientifica) is an Italian specialist in breast imaging technologies, best known for Giotto Image. It will integrate the new MDRC displays into its Raffaello image acquisition workstations.

”We thoroughly evaluated Barco’s MDRC displays in close cooperation with physicians and by means of phantoms,” said Achille Albanese, product and market manager at IMS.

“Barco’s MDRC monitors proved to be the best solution. Our customers are really impressed by the quality of the images.”

Barco says that in comparison to traditional review monitors, the MDRC-2120 shows digitally acquired images with better contrast and higher brightness, thanks to a high-quality LCD panel and preset DICOM lookup table. Backlight stabilization technology ensures fast power-up and long-term image consistency.

IMS has worked with Barco for many years. “This contract with IMS sets a new milestone in a long-standing partnership,” said Fabio Rotelli, Regional Manager for Barco.

“IMS has been integrating our renowned Coronis 5MP diagnostic displays in its solutions for many years. Through this new agreement, Barco will become IMS’s exclusive supplier of display products, both for acquisition and diagnosis.”
