The Institute of Healthcare Management has recognised E-Health Insider Live ’09 and decided that managers attending the event should qualify for 12 CPD points.

E-Health Insider Live ’09 is an essential exhibition and conference taking place at The ICC Birmingham in November.

The conference, which has BT as its principal sponsor, has four themes, including a look at the ‘big picture’ on policy and strategy in UK e-health.

It also has a strong focus on leadership, with Tim Collins, the retired army colonel, broadcaster and leadership lecturer, booked to give a keynote session.

Linda Davidson, director of E-Health Media, and one of the organisers of the event, said: “The Institute of Healthcare Management’s recognition for the E-Health Insider Live ’09 conference programme is very welcome indeed.

“We hope the programme reflects the growing requirement for all healthcare managers to be information savvy and for health informatics specialists to develop a wide understanding of management issues in the organisations they serve.”

The other conference themes are benefits realisation, digital patient care, and healthcare interoperability. More than 30 speakers have been booked across the four themes, so delegates will be able to build their own conference programme.

E-Health Insider Live ’09 will also have a lively exhibition, an opportunity to meet some of last year’s BT e-Health Insider Awards winners, and a chance to find out about good work on the ground in the best practice showcase.

In a statement, the IHM said: “The IHM recognises this development activity as providing an appropriate structure and design for its target audience. The content is deemed relevant and current for the development needs of managers in health and social care.”
