Induction Healthcare acquires video consultation firm Attend Anywhere

Induction Healthcare has acquired web-based video consultation software company Attend Anywhere for an undisclosed fee.

The acquisition will bring together Induction Healthcare’s virtual care platform with Attend Anywhere’s solution, which is used by 90% of NHS trusts across the UK.

This will mean healthcare professionals will be able to provide care or support in person, over the phone or over video which will help to free up  physical space and resources.

In addition to this, Attend Anywhere’s system compliments Induction Healthcare’s existing suite of products. These include Induction Switch, an app streamlining doctor communication; Induction Guidance, enabling NHS staff to access controlled treatment information and guidelines; and Induction Zesty, a patient portal, which the company acquired last summer.

Chris Ryan, CEO of Attend Anywhere said: “Our union brings together two teams with a common ethos and complementary products and services. It allows Attend Anywhere to accelerate our integration within hospitals and other IT systems, and delivers a significant boost to our operational capabilities in the UK and Ireland, as well as expanding opportunities across the globe.

“While the pandemic saw a rise in the need for remote care, it has long been our clients’ desire to digitise the UK’s healthcare offering. This partnership will help maintain the momentum of change for healthcare systems, which have seen a significant increase in remote consultations, even after local restrictions have been lifted. I am excited to remain actively involved in the business going forward.“

Ryan spoke to Digital Health News earlier in the year about the journey Attend Anywhere has been on since it was first established in 1998 and whether he thought video consultations would become the norm in healthcare.
