Renowned doctor, academic, writer and broadcaster, Professor Ben Goldacre, will be returning to Digital Health Rewired 2023 as day two keynote on the AI, Data and Analytics Stage.

Prof Goldacre will share his views on how the NHS should safely and efficiently use its powerful datasets to improve healthcare outcomes. He will speak on 15 March next year at London’s Business Design Centre.

Rewired 2023’s latest keynote is the author of ‘Better, Broader, Safer’, the review into better using health data for research and analysis published in April 2022.

Prof Goldacre’s key recommendations in the ground-breaking report included making Trusted Research Environments the model for accessing NHS patient records data and creating more career and development opportunities for NHS data analysis.

Other confirmed Digital Health Rewired 2023 keynotes include interim CEO of NHS Providers, Saffron Cordery, and NHS England and Improvement director of transformation Dr Tim Ferris.

Simon Bolton, interim CEO at NHS Digital, was initially announced as a keynote alongside Cordery, but will no longer be on the programme following the announcement that he is to leave NHS Digital in January 2023 after the organisation merges with NHS England.

Meanwhile, Rewired Pitchfest – a competition which provides a platform for young and innovative ventures to scale in the NHS – has opened for applications.

The 2023 contest, which closes for applications on 8 December, has added a new category for scale ups. The live final will take place at Rewired 2023 with finalists pitching to win an NHS test bed site.
