Five North East NHS foundation trusts have signed a contract with NHS-owned HealthCall, to deploy MyHealthCall PEP, a patient engagement platform allowing patients to manage appointments and access information via the NHS App.
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust, North Tees and Hartlepool Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust have signed the potential five-year deal with Health Call.
The platform has been developed by NHS professionals to improve patient experience and streamline services. Its aim is to give patients more autonomy, allowing them to manage their appointments, access hospital information and receive reminders and alerts through the NHS App.
Health Call is an NHS-approved supplier and one of just a handful who have integrated into the NHS App. This integration is part of a nation-wide programme to improve access and functionality of patient engagement platforms.
Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has already gone live with MyHealthCall PEP, with the other four trusts to follow shortly.

MyHealthCall Pep is expected to launch a suite of additional features soon.
Mid last year, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust renewed its partnership with Health Call, contracting the company to supply more than 60 digital applications over the next three years.
