Barts Health rolls out Cynerio cyber security platform

Barts Health NHS Trust rolled out Cynerio’s healthcare-focused cyber security platform across all of its sites to strengthen its defences against the threat of cyber attacks.

The trust selected Cynerio’s full suite in January 2024 and procured it in March 2024, with the platform now fully deployed across St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Royal London Hospital.

Cynerio’s platform is designed to continuously monitor, detect and mitigate cyber security threats to medical and Internet of Things (IoT) devices within healthcare environments to provide a strong defence against emerging cyber risks.

AI tool to detect lung cancer deployed in Greater Manchester

AI technology is being rolled out at seven NHS trusts within the Greater Manchester Imaging Network to help doctors detect diseases, including lung cancer, quicker.

It is being deployed across the region as part of a partnership between Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance, Greater Manchester Imaging Network and Annalise.ai, funded through the Artificial Intelligence Diagnostics Fund (AIDF).

The solution from global health tech firm Annalise.ai uses AI-powered X-ray decision-support which can detect up to 124 findings on chest radiographs.

Humber and North Yorkshire ICB signs N3i to digitise primary care

NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) signed technology firm N3i to help support the digital transformation of its primary care services.

It has signed a five-year contract, running from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2030, with N3i to provide relevant support services with a total value of between £22.7 million and £33.8 million.

The contract award notice states that the company is expected to provide and deliver a “quality focused and resilience service model which operates in a sustainable, innovative and flexible way”.

East Sussex Healthcare selects Nervecentre for new EPR

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust became the latest acute trust to select Nervecentre as its preferred supplier for an EPR.

After a detailed tendering process, the trust chose Nervecentre to drive transformation, with the contract expected to be signed in February 2025. The EPR implementation will last for two years, running from June 2025 to April 2027.

East Sussex Healthcare’s EPR programme, called EmPoweR, will bring together inpatient and outpatient care, electronic prescribing and medicines administration, order comms and theatres into a single EPR through the Nervecentre platform.

Feebris launches Heart Failure @ Home service in Northern Ireland

Virtual care technology provider Feebris launched a heart failure service in Northern Ireland, which enables patients with complex conditions to access remote care from home.

The project launched in November 2024 in collaboration with BT, Queen’s University Belfast and the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SE Trust), where the service is being provided.

By introducing the technology, the SE Trust is aiming to improve quality of life for patients and accessibility of services, while also creating additional capacity and reducing avoidable emergency department visits and hospital admissions.
