📖 What we’re reading
Research, published on 26 June 2025, has revealed that despite the announcement of a further £10bn government investment into digital transformation, the UK is one of Europe’s least trusting nations when it comes to adopting AI and digital health tools.
STADA’s independently conducted Health Report 2025, found that 52% of UK adults would not consider using AI for a medical consultation, with concerns over data storage and accuracy being major barriers.
How data is stored was a concern for 24% of UK adults, in comparison to the global average of 16% and 61% of UK respondents said they do not trust AI to deliver accurate or safe medical advice.
Volker Sydow, interim general manager for STADA Thornton & Ross, said: “AI is a huge topic on the agenda for global healthcare, and it is worrying to see such low trust levels in the UK.
“While there’s clear resistance to digital transformation, projections suggest that the UK’s health and social care sectors could see the biggest job gains from AI over the next two decades.”
