Croydon Sexual Health and HIV clinic at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust (CSH) has gone live with Inform Health’s electronic patient record (EPR) and personal health record (PHR) systems.
CSH announced plans in February 2025 to implement Inform Health’s systems, prompted by the incumbent provider entering voluntary liquidation in early 2023. The new EPR and PHR went live on 19 May 2025, with the implementation being completed within 12 months.
The roll out of the Inform EPR included lab integration, data migration, multi-factor authentication (MFA), as well as implementation of the psychosexual therapy and multi-disciplinary team modules.
Jamal Smith-John, operations manager sexual health and HIV at CSH, said: “The response to using the Inform Health systems has been incredibly positive so far, with patients enjoying the increased autonomy they have over managing appointments quickly and easily online and staff benefiting from intuitive workflows and process automation.
“Having PHR in place is exciting for the service, as it provides a platform for us to more closely communicate and interact with patients.
“We’re already working with the Inform Health team on new ways we can develop our systems to drive further value, such as empowering patients to complete their own self taken histories and fine-tuning care templates.”
The PHR rollout included implementation of the foundation module, which allows patients to register for an account before booking and amending appointments online, as well as STI postal kits, check-in on own device and results notification modules.
With 7,890 PHR accounts created since go-live, the service is allowing patients to self-manage key aspects of their sexual health, such as booking and cancelling appointments and ordering STI testing kits, via PHR’s intelligent and tailored triage process.
CSH is the first service to deploy the ‘check-in on own device’ and ‘results notification’ modules of PHR, as well as MFA for the EPR.
Sue Bunn, commercial director at Inform Health, said: “We’re proud to support CSH in delivering more accessible, efficient and patient-centred care.
“As the first service in the UK to implement multi-factor authentication for the EPR, along with the Results Notification and Check-in on Own Device modules, CSH is truly leading the way in digital innovation.
“This successful go-live shows what’s possible when clinical ambition meets cutting-edge technology and a shared commitment to improving outcomes.”
Luton Sexual Health (LSH) also went live with Inform Health’s EPR and PHR systems in late 2024 as part of plans to increase patient access and improve service efficiencies.
