Digital healthcare startup MyWay Digital Health (MWDH) has secured £3 million to accelerate the development of AI-enabled products to reduce the burden of chronic disease.

MWDH’s flagship platform, MyWay Diabetes, is a digital self-management tool that integrates with NHS systems to provide personalised education, data visualisation and insights for patients and clinicians.

The £3m investment from private equity firm Foresight Group will enable MWDH to accelerate the development of new AI-enabled products, including predictive analytics and personalised care pathways.

Debbie Wake, chief executive and cofounder of MWDH, said: “We are delighted to have secured investment from Foresight, marking a significant milestone in MWDH’s journey.

“Their support will enable us to accelerate our growth strategy, broaden our product offering, and further expand our global footprint.”

Spun out of the University of Dundee, MWDH employs 30 staff across Dundee, Edinburgh and London with the mission of improving the lives of people living with long-term conditions through data-driven, personalised health technology.

Its suite of products spans diabetes prevention, cardiovascular health, hypertension, and weight management.

The funding will allow the company to expand its commercial footprint to meet growing global demand for scalable digital health solutions.

Daniel Halliday, managing director at Foresight Group, said: “The adoption of digital tools and AI to reduce the burden on frontline care is critical.

“MWDH is at the forefront of this and its best in class technology is proven to deliver better health outcomes and cost savings for its customers.

“Foresight is excited to support the team on their next phase of growth.”

To support MWDH’s growth strategy, Dr Umang Patel will join as non-executive chair. He brings extensive experience from the technology and healthcare sectors and currently serves as chief clinical information officer at Microsoft in the EMEA region.

He will work closely with the management team to drive both domestic and international expansion.

Foresight Group invested in radiology platform Hexarad in 2024, as part of £11.2m growth funding from existing shareholders, led by Swiss-based growth equity firm MTIP.
