Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust has signed a 10-year contract with Nervecentre to implement its electronic patient record (EPR) system.
Mid Yorkshire and Nervecentre signed the contract at the beginning of February 2026, following the firm’s selection as the preferred EPR supplier in December 2025 and the allocation of funding for the system from NHS England.
Nervecentre’s cloud-based system is aimed to further digitise healthcare services at Mid Yorkshire and provide clinical staff with access to real-time medical records. It will be implemented at Mid Yorkshire on a phased basis over a two-year period.
Rob Birkett, chief digital information officer at Mid Yorkshire, said: “We are delighted to take a further step towards a single, secure and integrated digitised health record for patients under the care of Mid Yorkshire, following the signing of a contract with Nervecentre as our EPR supplier.
“The new EPR system will connect every part of the care journey, putting our patients at the heart of everything we do.
“It will allow clinicians to access patient data at the point of care and empower our staff to provide an excellent patient experience at every contact.”
NHSE invested £1.9bn through the Frontline Digitisation programme to support NHS trusts having an EPR in place by March 2026.
It is expected that the EPR will increase the speed and efficiency at which information can be shared across departments, wards and hospital sites at Mid Yorkshire, transforming the quality of care by helping to support important clinical decision-making.
Paul Volkaerts, chief executive at Nervecentre, said: “This partnership represents a significant step forward in delivering the NHS’s vision for a more connected, digitally enabled health service.
“Deploying Nervecentre will give Mid Yorkshire the power to transform how care is delivered, bringing people together and supporting improved productivity, safer care and a seamless experience for patients and staff.
“We are proud to support the trust in realising its digital ambitions and look forward to working together to deliver lasting impact across its hospitals.”
Mid Yorkshire is the eleventh acute trust to adopt Nervecentre’s cloud-native EPR, with the system now set to support nearly 14,000 beds and up to 10.5 million people.
Nervecentre has already established a strong presence in the East Midlands, with Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust selecting the firm as their preferred EPR supplier.
Other sites which have deployed the supplier’s EPR include University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Foundation Trust, Chesterfield Royal Hospital Foundation Trust, Northampton General Hospital, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and East Sussex Healthcare.
